This release was delayed two weeks in respect for Bomani as he was shot in the face with a rubber bullet during a Black Lives Matter protest in Austin, Texas just days following the gruesome murder of George Floyd at the hands of 4 (Now Former) Minneapolis Police Officers.

I have no idea how much this is going to cost. We are supposed to see if we can get financial help through some AID as well. But anything helps, prolly use it to go to bills and stuff to make smoothies. #theupdate I was shot with rubber or bean bags to my hip (bruised), my right strumming elbow (swollen), and my jaw. I had surgery on my jaw this morning retaining some of my lip and wiring shut my jaw because it was fractured into pieces (it looks swollen in the pic as it has come down a lot) I can stand, I can walk and the pain is now mild ( but I’m also on drugs lol 😂 ) I will have the wired jaw for 6 to 8 weeks. We don’t know exactly how we are going to go about fixing my lip and my teeth but that will come later. . . But honestly I just want y’all to know this is why we fight. I was backing up from the cop when I was targeted. Why he would shot me 3 times beats me (hahaha just kidding we know why) . . Last thing, I’ve been seeing some of the news stations. They are not telling our side correctly. They won’t even show the damage they cause to us, but coddle the police saying things like “cops hit by projectiles” like our small rocks are hurting them through their face Shields and body armor. They put the cops in a positive light and only focus on the protest when it’s “looting”. They say this is not how you should do it....but even when MlK marched they said the same thing. There will never be a right way to protest because to those who oppress us, we are always wrong. They fear they will lose something and we will gain. That is power. Press on, get organized, be safe. . . Double lastly, thank you for all the kind words. If you don’t think ima get back to every single msg, you don’t know me! I WILL! I’m just in and out of rest and talking to family and doctors. Thank y’all for everything and I will keep cheering y’all on for what y’all do and keeping y’all updated on how I’m doing.
